Middle Leaders are crucial to the process of school improvement, providing the link between the senior leadership team and teaching staff, the link between policy and practice.

Improving student behaviour is a challenge faced by all Middle Leaders and success depends on the ability to put an effective behaviour policy into practice.  The need for an effective behaviour policy has even greater significance now as a result of the new Ofsted framework which makes clear the strong contribution that behaviour standards make towards the final judgement on a school’s overall effectiveness.

Based on our experiences working with Middle Leaders in hundreds of schools we have written a white paper identfying the attributes of a successful Middle Leader.   We show the impact of behaviour tracking on the role and effectiveness of Middle Leaders and how to ensure the behaviour policy becomes practice.
