Being Positive - Rewarding Good Behaviour

Based on an article on Rochdale Online.

At Springhill High School in Rochdale sleuth is contributing to a reward system designed to motivate students and engage them in learning.

For good work, significant improvements and contributing to school life, staff reward students with a sticker in their planner, this is entered in sleuth so rewards can be monitored, tracked and analysed. Students can track their own score in their online account so they they know how they are progressing. For every positive in sleuth ten credits are awarded which can then be used to purchase rewards and gifts from the school online reward shop.

Deputy Headteacher Mr Keate said "If rewards are used effectively they are a fantastic tool that will motivate students, engage them in learning and encourage better behaviour."
